Registering for new-build housing in Rotterdam
There is no single citywide registration covering every new development. Choose buying or renting first, then follow the official application route for the particular project.

From interest to purchase application
A newsletter keeps you informed but does not automatically count as a housing application. New Maas directs buyers to a property selector, sales documents and a candidate account. For any development, check when preferences must be submitted and how allocation works. Ask what financial information is required. Candidate registration is not a reservation, purchase agreement or guaranteed home.
Choose the relevant rental route
Rental applications may go through Woonnet Rijnmond or a landlord’s own portal. Read project conditions before creating several accounts. Record each project’s stage, deadline, contact and application confirmation. Submit personal documents only through a verified channel. Ask the provider to clarify if you cannot tell whether you have expressed interest or formally applied.
Check before deciding
- Decide first: buy or rent.
- Check that you have formally applied.
- Keep terms, preferences and receipt confirmation.
Official sources
